Partner Bios
Yvette Little, co-owner of Simply Green Solutions, LLC
Qualifications: She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. She brings over 20 years of results-oriented business experience focused on project management, operational system design, strategic planning, organizational administration and events of all sizes. Special emphasis is placed on increasing client/community outreach, community development, program enhancement, marketing and event planning. Balancing the triple bottom line (environment, society and profit), Yvette is dedicated to enhancing and strengthening environmental awareness, expanding organizational effectiveness and building partnerships in a pro-active manner. Linking people and resources together is a special area of talent. Her organized and innovative style is supported by her resourcefulness, communication methods and initiative.
Background: Yvette is a Community Development Specialist, Volunteer Coordinator and Liaison for private, non-profit & public organizations. She was responsible for securing grants to begin new Manatee County programs for Monofilament Recycling. She managed hundreds of events ranging from zero dollars (relying solely on in-kind donations) to over $800,000 involving 1300+ attendees for a four-day totally inclusive national event. She was responsible for Environmental Education/Stewardship and programs coordinated with various agencies and community organizations. As Program Director for Keep America Beautiful’s local affiliate, she coordinated annual events such as the Great American Cleanup & the Ocean Conservancy’s Florida Coastal Cleanup and many more programs that were supported by over 4,000 volunteers annually.
Karen Fraley, co-owner of Simply Green Solutions, LLC
Qualifications: Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture with a Minor in Environmental Studies from the University of Florida 1982. She attended the Florida Environmental Permitting Short-Course of The Florida Chamber in 1986. She earned her 30-Hour Preschool Teaching Certificate from the Florida DHRS 1992. And is a facilitator for Project WILD (FFWCC) Project Learning Tree (Florida Division of Forestry) and Project WET (SWFWMD) Environmental Education programs. Karen is also the past president of the Serenoa Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, FNPS and currently their Education Director. She is a member of the League of Environmental Educators of Florida, LEEF and the American Society for Curriculum Development, ASCD.
Background: Karen started Around the Bend Nature Tours, LLC as a sole proprietor in March of 1999 offering environmental education consulting, curriculum writing, teacher workshops, guided nature walks, boat tours, field study trips for schools, Discovery on the Bay summer camp, & outdoor education classes for adults. www.aroundbend.com Karen has developed several curriculum based teachers guides including “Sarasota Bay Coastal Habitats” curriculum in cooperation with Mote Marine Laboratory for the Sarasota Bay National Estuary Program in 2003; Teachers Guide and Lesson Plans for DeSoto National Memorial in 2002 and the Teachers Guide to Field Studies for Manatee County Conservation Lands in 2001 Karen developed the idea for The Trail of the Lost Tribes: a partnership between public and private entities that provide consistent interpretation of the archaeology, anthropology and natural history of the ancient cultural sites on Florida’s Gulf Coast Project Director for 2 brochures published in 2003 and 2004 and distributed throughout the state. She also created a state model proposal for the Manatee School of Arts & Sciences, charter school in Manatee County which was used as a model by the State of Florida Department of Education.
